How Do You Fix A CD With Toothpaste?
Even when you do your best to take care of them, CDs can get scratched easily. These scratches can make your CD skip and even make it nearly impossible to listen to. There is a great way you can fix this problem with something you already have in your home: toothpaste. Step 1 Turn the faucet on warm and have it at medium to low pressure. Hold the CD with your thumb on the edge and your index or middle finger in the center hole. Hold it under the running water just enough to get it wet and clean away any dirt or dust. Step 2 Apply about a fingertip of toothpaste to the shiny side of the CD (without the lettering or picture on it). Gently smooth the toothpaste over that side of the CD. Make sure you do not scrub the CD with the toothpaste, but gently rub it in. The toothpaste will fill in the scratches. Step 3 Rinse the CD with hot water and pat dry with a towel. Place the CD back into its case. Repeat this process with the next scratched CD.
