Use cornice boards to dress up your windows. You can cut out cornice boards to any shape or size and decorate them to match the décor of any room in your house. Usually homeowners use cornice boards on windows that have little or no window frame. Cornice boards give the window depth and definition as well as a fancy design. Use fabric and some fancy trim to make an elegant addition to your window coverings. Step 1 Measure the width of your window with the measuring tape. Measure the distance you want the cornice board to stand out from the wall. Keep the distance from the wall 5 inches or less.
