How Do You Make A Wooden Pen?
There is something timeless and earthy about holding a wooden pen instead of a plastic one. It makes a fantastic office piece and a thoughtful gift for someone you care about. Wooden pens are always a talking piece but even more so when you can tell others that you made it yourself. • Gather together pieces of wood approximately 8 inches / 20.3 cm in length. Any kind of wood will do. • Find a piece that you would like to use as your “starter” piece. Cut it roughly 1″ x 1″ x 8″ / 2.5 cm x 2.5 cm x 20.3 cm with a table saw. You are free to choose other dimensions – this is just used as an example. • Cut your “starter” piece using a band saw. Cut the full length in a wiggly line – in other words, not straight! • Cut or find another piece of wood. Find a piece in another color/type. Cut it approximately 1/16 – 1/8″ / 1.5 mm – 3.1 mm thick by the length of your “starter” piece.
