How Do You Make Horchata?
Horchata also known as orxata is a sweet drink popular in Latin America and Spain. A common version of horchata is a sweet rice milk drink that is described here. Other versions can be made of almonds, barley, jicaro seeds, herbs or tigernuts.[1] The following recipe will make 6 cups of delicious horchata. • Blend water and rice for about 1 minute. At this point the rice should just begin to fall apart. • Let the rice water mixture stand at room temperature for 45 min. • Strain the rice chunks out of the water. • Add the vanilla, sugar, milk, and cinnamon into the rice water. • Chill for a half hour. • Stir and serve over ice if wanted.
