How Do You Make Cheese Potato Pie?
The onset of winter always makes me yearn for comfort foods like this yummy cheese pie dish. So simple, yet so hearty and for those with children, it’s easy to slip the odd vegetable in and it won’t be spotted by a cheese-loving tot! Serves 6 Step 1 Preheat oven to 350. Step 2 Put potatoes in water and bring to a boil, until potatoes are tender. Drain. Step 3 Mash potatoes with 6 tbsp butter. Add 1/2 cup cheddar, milk, eggs, salt, pepper and onion to potatoes. Mix well. Step 4 Grease a 13 x 9 casserole dish. Step 5 Spoon half of mixture into casserole dish, spreading evenly. Cover layer with 1/2 cup cheddar cheese. Step 6 Spoon remaining potato mixture into casserole and cover with remaining cheddar cheese. Step 7 Garnish top of pie with slices of tomato. Step 8 Sprinkle parmesean cheese and bread crumbs over the top. Dot with remaining butter. Step 9 Bake for 45 minutes until golden brown.
