How Do You Bake Bread Without Loaf Pans?
Many people believe that if they do not own loaf pans, they cannot possibly make their own bread at home. Nothing could be farther from the truth, as almost all kitchens will contain something the bread can be baked in. Step 1 Look around your kitchen for oven safe casserole dishes or pots and pans. Cookie sheets work well for hand shaped loaves. Step 2 Save coffee cans or large vegetable cans for baking bread. Clean thoroughly and remove any paper labels before using. Be sure to scrub off any remaining glue. Step 3 Scrub terra-cotta flower pots in different sizes. Terra-cotta works well for baking bread in a moderate oven. Step 4 Make up your bread recipe, allow to rise and then divide the dough according to the size of the baking dishes you have scrounged up. Step 5 Grease the insides of the baking dishes and insert dough. Let rise until double and then bake. Step 6 Remove bread from the containers when you take them from the oven. Let the bread cool for a few minutes on a wire rack
