How Do You Paint A Wine Glass?
Painted wine glasses lend themselves to festive occasions. Along with a bottle of wine they make the perfect hostess gift or a stylish and inexpensive wedding favor. There are many techniques and possibilities for glass painting. The following instructions use what I call the dot and dash method. This simple technique offers quick and satisfying results for the novice crafter. Select a wine glass. Different shapes lend themselves to different designs. Clean the glass using rubbing alcohol and a lint free cloth or paper towel and let dry. Apply masking tape to about the top inch of the glass. This will prevent your design from bleeding into the part where a person’s lips would touch the glass. You can also place squares of masking tape on the inside of the glass to guide you in the placement of your designs. Take your ballpoint pen and dip the butt end into a paint color of your choice.
