What’s a little bit bath salt, a little bit bath oil, a little bit relaxing, and a little bit fizzy fun? You guessed it…the fizzy bath bomb. You can make them in spheres, tablets, or use molds to make an unlimited variety of shapes. The foundation of the bath bomb is a simple chemical reaction between an acid and a base – it this case, citric acid and baking soda. You could make bath bombs with just those two ingredients and a bit of water. They wouldn’t be very exciting…but they’d sure fizz really well in the bath! The recipe I use has a few more ingredients and adds a bit of luxury to the bath. (And why else do we take the time to relax in the bath if not for a bit of luxury!?) Fizzy bath bombs are fun to make, fun to use and fun to give away as gifts. You can use different colors and fragrances to make them, and you can even add some dried flowers or glitter. So, go ahead and throw a bath bomb in a tub full of hot water and watch it fizz, bounce and swirl. Read on to learn how to make fizzy bath bombs. Step 1 Sift together the baking soda and citric acid in a large, mixing bowl. (Make sure the bowl is completely dry before you begin.) Blend the mixture thoroughly, or the fizzy bath bomb will be too grainy. Step 2 Mix the sweet almond oil, essential oil and food coloring in a small bowl. Step 3 Stir the oil mixture into the larger bowl of baking powder and citric acid, and then mix it quickly with your fingertips. Speed is important, because if you mix too slowly, the mixture can begin to fizz. Step 4 Rub a bit of sweet almond oil on the inside of the molds, and then fill the molds with the mixture, packing them tightly with your fingers. Step 5 Let the fizzy
