Hairbows and hair accessories are often quite expensive in boutiques and department stores. With a little bit of time and a few supplies, you can create one-of-a-kind hairbows to compliment every outfit in your child’s wardrobe…and for quite a bit less than you would pay in a retail store. Save money by doing it yourself! Step 1 Select the ribbon that you will be using to make the hairbow. Almost any type of ribbon can be used, although some types of ribbon seems to work better than other types. Grosgrain and satin ribbon that are found in the sewing/notions department seem to work better than ribbon that has a wired edge or a papery feel to it. But, the choice is yours.
