What s NICEIC mean?
NICEIC, The National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting, is the electrical industry s independent non profit-making, voluntary regulatory body covering the whole of the United Kingdom. It is not a trade association and does not represent the interests of electrical contractors. The NICEIC aims to protect everyone who uses electricity from unsafe electrical installations in their homes, places of work and leisure. They maintain a register of electrical contractors they have assessed as complying with the Council’s rules. The assessment covers the contractors’ electrical work, their premises and documentation, and the competence of their key supervisory staff. Approved Electrical Contractors are re-assessed every year to confirm that both their business and technical standard of their electrical work continue to comply with the Council’s rules.
