How to Make a Compost Pile

0

Pile green garden debris (not weeds that have gone to seed, diseased plants, or plants with weed killer on them), and twice as much brown garden debris like dead leaves, and finlly, a shovel full of dirt in an unused area of your property. Continue adding until the pile reaches about hip high Add your food scraps like peelings to the pile if you want. Do not add meat, dairy, oils, or pet manure. Now sit back and wait six to twelve months. Or if you’re in a hurry, turn the pile every week. When the debris is unrecognizable (about two months), your compost is ready.
