I am neither a lawyer or a CPA, but I have known and worked and played with lots of them both currently, and in my old career (insurance). You have to answer a lot of questions about your situation and your goals to decide. They are not dissimilar insofar as the culture of the types of firms you’d likely be working for, and the challenges you will face getting your foot in the door of many of them. If you intend to be self-employed, think about how you’d like to spend your average day, what kind of clients you’d relate best to, and which career would combine with your BS and any other interests or expertise you have to make you most valuable to them. You need to consider: Would you prefer working for a large firm or a smaller one? Or would you prefer to run your own business? What kinds of opportunities are in your area?
