What is PLAR?
Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition. It’s a process for having learning gained outside the JIBC assessed for credit in our Certificate Program. The candidate basically challenges specific courses and is responsible for gathering and submitting information that would prove to us that they had the same level of knowledge and skills as a person who has taken the course(s). This can be based on training taken outside the JIBC or on learning gained through life and work experience.
