DVD regions are codes for specifications that require a DVD player to be “hard-coded” to accept the disc’s particular region. For example a region 1 disc cannot play in a region 3 DVD player. Their are eight regions in total, six of which are designated for world regions.

Regions are geographic areas in Yahoo! Local. In most parts of the U.S., regions roughly correspond to counties. When you select Featured Listings placements, you can see a map of your region and the neighboring regions in which you can feature your business. To ensure relevant results for Yahoo! Local users, you can only buy Featured Listings in the region in which your business is physically located and in neighboring regions. The region(s) and categories you choose for Featured placement will determine when your listing is shown: it will be displayed in the page position you select on either the first or second page of results when the user’s query matches the category and region in which you have purchased a Featured Listing.
