Why the STX Sync 3?
Having made the decision to commit to a broomstick putter I went to the local golf shop and selected all the different ‘long’ putters for trial. This included all the ‘belly’ putters. For me the belly putters just felt uncomfortable so I quickly dropped them from the selection process. Moving on to the broomsticks, there is not a huge number available. Most of these had extremely heavy heads (to encourage the pendulum effect I assume), but I found these extremely hard to control on longer putts. I kept coming back to the STX Sync 3 putter, the main reasons were the head design and the weight. The head design I found very easy to line up with the odd looking pointed back making it easier to visualize the line. The point also made it very obvious when you were taking the clubhead back off line. The weight of the clubhead was not too heavy, it feels more under control, especially on the longer putts.
