Why is breeding crossbreeds wrong?

0

With so many homeless dogs already around, breeding any dog is wrong if it isn’t been done for a specific purpose (other than making money). Breeding is always a lottery & crossbreeds tend to have a lot of unknowns in their background, so how can a breeder be sure they don’t have questionable temperaments or health issues behind the dogs they are using? How can they be sure a particular puppy will be suitable for a prospective purchaser without being sure of the personality of that puppy? Purebreds breed true to type so a purchaser has a good idea of what they are getting, crossbreeds may inherit the looks, size, temperament etc of either parent or neither so there is no guarantee that a puppy will turm out as expected. Reputable breeders do all the health tests necessary before breeding, with a crossbreed, the number of health tests which should be done is probably double that of purebreds and how many people would be willing to shell out £500 + before breeding a litter of crossbreeds
