What is considered promiscuous?
To me, it can either be a man or woman who frequently engages in sexual actitivites in a casual manner with many different partners. It doesn’t have to mean anything but sex and it doesn’t have to be with anyone particulary special. It’s sort of like being on the prowl and taking what you can get most any time an opportunity presents itself. The answer is driven by your own boundaries but you could say that if a person is doing something sexualy that hurts others that interfers with the marriages/relationships of others or throws them into havoc, that is an unsafe practice–risky behavior then I think a person is promiscuous. If a person is driven by pure pleasure and the conquest of needing to have numerous sexual partners then the person isn’t driven by love and I think they are promiscuous. Basically that means having sex with just about anyone without setting standards of selection. If a girl has sex with every guy she goes out with she is promiscuous. In our society we feel that we should all be discriminating in our sexual partners and to carefully select the best ones. In her life, a woman might be involved with several men and have sexual relations with them. She is not promiscuous because she made careful choices about these men even though she wasn’t married to any of them. But if she had sex with all of their friends, then she’s promiscuous.
