What is the song “Brick” about?
“Brick” is about a young couple’s relationship, and how it’s affected by an abortion. The band has acknowledged the abortion angle on several occasions. Note that it’s kind of simplistic to say that the song is “about” abortion… It’s really about a relationship; the abortion was a catalyst, and that makes them (or at least the narrator) reflect somberly on that relationship. Ben has alluded that the song is autobiographical.
