The Dirty Dozen (2008) Movie — By Nix on July 6, 2007 “X2″ and “Xmen: Last Stand” writer Zak Penn has reportedly been given the job of penning (har har) a remake of “The Dirty Dozen” for Warner Brothers and uber producer Joel Silver. 1967’s “The Dirty Dozen” is a favorite movie for a lot of people (not one of mine, personally), so news of an impending remake will probably not be greeted all that warmly. Then again, if the last 10 years in Hollywood has taught us anything, it’s that ANYTHING is ripe for a remake. Here’s the plot of the original: In late March 1944 a rebellious US Army Major is “volunteered” to train twelve convicted military criminals for a suicide mission – to parachute to a heavily-guarded Nazi general staff officers’ retreat to try and assassinate German officers on leave.
