Which Way to Middle East Peace?
May 17, 2002Print-Friendly Version Send to a Friend By Fran Rensbarger Sara Cobb, director of the Institute for Conflict Analysis and Resolution (ICAR), will moderate a community-wide forum, which will examine various perspectives on the crisis between the Israelis and the Palestinians. “Which Way to Peace in the Middle East” is held on Sunday at 7 p.m. at Congregation Adat Reyim, 6500 Westbury Oaks Court, in Springfield. The invited speakers are “people who have really thought through the issues,” says Rabbi Bruce Aft, an ICAR fellow, and were chosen because they represent different views on the conflict. Richard Rubenstein, ICAR professor of conflict resolution and public affairs, is joined on the panel by Captain Roy Hessel, Reserve Special Forces, Israel Defense Forces; Milton Viorst, noted authority on Middle Eastern affairs; and Morris Amitay, founder of the Washington Political Action Committee and former director of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee.
