Why is proper grammar important?

0

Proper grammar is important for a number of reasons. For example, if you are filling out a job application, and your grammar is bad, then you may be much less likely to get the job than someone who does use proper grammar. Bad grammar can quite often portray the person as being less intelligent. For example, if I were to hear someone say, “He don’t go there no more.”, I would assume that person was not exactly brimming with intelligence, since that sentence is definately bad grammar; it not only uses the wrong contraction, but it also contains a double negative. The correct way to say that sentence would be “He doesn’t go there anymore”.
