How to weave a basket?
Basket weaving can be for beginners and professionals. I suggest you start out with an easy pattern if this is your first time weaving a basket. Materials needed are reed (of different sizes, shapes and colors), and tools such as shears, measuring tape, clothespins/clibs, straight edge ruler, and a small tub (for soaking reed). First you have to cut and prepare all reeds before you start to weave. They will need to be soaked to make them flexible for weaving. Next, the construction starts. This will have different steps depending on your style basket. After everything is weaved you need to finish the basket by trimming and tucking all stakes, applying the rim, and attaching the handles.
