There was Occupied France , occupied by German miitary and the Waffen-SS, as a flag of convenience, SS-men in France were called Feld-gendarmerie rather than Feld Poilzei (Mqans the same thing) the British coined the phrase (Vichy France) to describe the southern command of France, occupied by the Nazis in the town ot Vichy. They anted a neat little noun-clause like Nazi Germany. By the way the French did not employ the term Vichy France, but used Occupied France instead.l Occupied by the Germans that is.
