The London Symphony Orchestra, with generous support from UBS, welcomes you to UBS Soundscapes: Pioneers, an innovative commissioning project that will bring new musical gems to our audiences and give UK composers from a wide variety of musical backgrounds their first break into writing for a symphony orchestra on the world stage. The UBS Soundscapes: Pioneers series comprises short pieces developed by composers working directly with the orchestra, and each commission will appear as a surprise bonus item at one or more LSO concerts. The scheme, which began in 2005, lasts initally for three years, with 18 composers taking part.
