Is the tv show cops fake?
Sat, November 29 2008: I’m pissed. I think some of them are fake and it drives me crazy. I’m a huge fan of the show, and I can spot a fake segment from a mile away. Here are some clues: 1) Perp is somewhat scuzzy looking, but not authentically – like they took someone and put a bunch of fake tats on them. 2) When the cops the bust ’em, there’s nothing random– no struggle, maybe a small chase, but nothing totally crazy. 3) Apologetic criminal – they always say I’m sorry, and the cop responds with something like, “you know, you’re lucky you followed my orders, or you would’ve been tazed”. To which the criminal talks about how fortunate they are that they didn’t face the tazer. 4) Maybe a jail cell interview, in which the criminal talks about how “their life is messed up” and the cop talks sympathetically about how they can “put it back together”.
