What is a FIG?
A First-year Interest Group is a cohort of up to 25 first-year students who take two to four courses together. Typically, one of these classes is small, to allow students to recognize their FIG-mates in both small and large classes. In addition, each FIG cluster attends a weekly 1-hour seminar that is facilitated by a peer mentor and a professional staff member.
