What are “prims?
Prims are the abbreviated term for “primitives” or three-dimensional graphical geometric shapes in Second Life. They are the shapes or building blocks that make almost everything in Second Life. Each parcel of land in Second Life can support only a limited number of prims, so the fewer there are in an object or product, the better it is for the purchaser. Daybreak Designs attempts to keep prim counts in products and builds low, while maintaining the appearance and quality of the product. Prims can have items placed inside them, such as scripts, textures, and sounds. The surfaces of prims can have textures or photographs placed on them to change their appearance.
