What is channel roleplay?
Conceptualizing this can be a little tricky to both understand and explain so please bear with me and I will try my best. Some people enjoy roleplay sessions which take place within a chat channel that is assumed to be in person. That is to say, it assumes the people participating are actually there live and in person rather than on their ships. A common setting is a virtual bar or lounge. One method to explain how a person can be actually piloting their ship in game and also be active in the channel at the same time is to presume that the events taking place in the channel are taking place at a different point in time other than the immediate present (this is where it gets tricky). For simplicity and continuity’s sake, we adopt a different approach at Twilight Labs. We participate in this kind of roleplay only when the chances of actual in game contact between other participants of the channel is low to none, for example when we are docked or off mining or missioning alone.
