What were jim crows laws?
Jim Crow laws were laws that were set in place between 1876 and 1965 to make Blacks separate, but equal. This meant that Blacks could go to the same functions and public things, but they had to be set apart from Whites. The schools were segregated, Blacks could not use the same restroom as Whites, Blacks could not drink from the same water fountain, and so on and so forth.
