I have seen a lot of people talking about harvesting and reusing their yeast cakes at the end of the primary. What is the purpose of doing this. The only thing I can think of is either the yeast is expensive (I just bought a kit and it came with it) or that certain strains can be difficult to obtain. If anyone could give me a little more info regarding this or point me in the right direction.
