Is it a good idea to have other parents/carers supervising party activities and games?
In short, Yes! For obvious health and safety reasons, no child should be left alone with scissors, glue, palette knives, or other resources. Children will also need (and enjoy) direction and support to stay on the task to finish the activity successfully. Ths will make for a better end product made by the children, and hopefully less clearing up for you to do! Ideally, there would be a supervisor permanently at the table to lead the activity. But if this is not possible, then it would be a good idea to provide simple bullet point instructions on the activity table for parents to read and follow. Q) What if any of the children has an accident? A) Stay calm. If you or any other supervisors know basic first aid, then treat it yourself. If you think it serious enough, or if the child wants you, to then call their parents and let them know. Obviously if it appears very serious, then call for an ambulance.
