What Cd would be the best to buy if I wanted to check out the band Marylin Manson?
I’d say they’ve always been heavy metal, they’ve always been goth, and they’ve always been out to shock, those are the three consistent factors among all the albums. But it seems as though they’ve incorporated new things into the music with each album. To get a good idea of their overall sound you have three choices. #1, you could pick up their best of album as it would probably be the most representative of their entire body of work. #2, you could pick up their live album, Last Tour on Earth, as it has songs from throughout their career. #3, you could rely on a subjective review of a fan. Being that fan, I will state that in my opinion, they are defined more by Antichrist Superstar than anything else. And there is the fourth choice which is to wait for their upcoming release (I think in May), and you’ll see who they are today.
