What Are The Knights Templar?
These were groups of knights that headed the call to arms of the Papacy during the Crusades and went to retake the holy lands. The Knights Templar were fervent in their attempts to take and hold the holy lands. They are distinguishable by their Red Iron Cross symbols on their tunics. These names surround the conspiracy theories that the crusaders returned to Europe with the Ark, or the Grail. In the end, the Templar were destroyed by agents of the Roman Catholic Church.
