A. Only if the body is to be kept several days for a funeral service, or is to be transported by common carrier. Otherwise, it serves no useful purpose and is not necessary or legally required.

it is my understanding,  that if the body is refridgerated or placed on dry ice for a few days, it does not need to be embalmed.  this will allow people who come from the time to pay their last respects.

those cultures or religions that do not believe in ALTERING the body would be in compliance with their beleifs.      i am refering to laws currently in force in wisconsin.   i donot speak for any other state or states.
