Can the tax class of wine be easily changed, if at all, once entered?
RESPONSE: Tax classes are associated with each tank of wine. Tanks can be reclassified into a new Tax Class. 3 QUESTION: Please describe setting up the system so that it properly generates a 702 report (for example, is the tax class column automatically determined by the alcohol currently showing for that tank, or do we need unique transaction types to blend 14-21% wine into < 14% and vice-versa?) RESPONSE: The Compliance tracking complies with Government requirements, both State and Federal. Each work order has an operation code that is mapped to the 702 TTB form. Each tank has a before and after tax class. Every case goods inventory transaction affects the 702 inventories. This is accomplished through the use of Operation codes and tax classes on work orders and inventory transactions. Each Operation code contains special Form 702 coding. In conjunction with these, a series of Tax Class codes when the wine is produced.
