What is parasitology?
Parasitology is when someone studies, and focuses on learning about something that lives either on the outside, or on the inside of another host and the effects of it. So for example a woodtick on a dog, the woodtick is the parasite, and the dog is the host. Examples of a parasite inside could be a tapeworm living in the intestines of a person who is then the tapeworms host. People study these things to find out the extent of the damage it can do, and how it lives, and possibly finding a way to prevent.
