Address: Buzzards Bay National Estuary Program, 2870 Cranberry Highway (Rt. 6), East Wareham, MA 02538 Communications: Phone: (508) 291-3625, fax: (508) 291-3628, email: twarncke@buzzardsbay.org The Buzzards Bay NEP is conveniently located on Route 6 in Wareham, immediately off Exit 2 on Route 25, at the top of the Buzzards Bay watershed near where four major highways (Interstates 195 & 495, and State 28, and 6) come together. There are two confusing points when arriving at our exit. First, we had been at “Exit 1” on Rt 25, which was immediately after the last exit on 495 (onto Rt. 195 to New Bedford), which was also “Exit 1”, so when driving, there were two “Exit 1s” in a row. The state just changed the numbering system to make our exit, Exit 2, to avoid confusion, but internet map directions still list our exit as “Exit 1.” The other confusing point is that we are on a one-way portion of a divided highway, so study the turnout map to the right.
