What is a Spiritist?
A Spiritist in this context is a person, who follows the teachings of Allan Kardec, the Frenchman who founded the movement in the 19th century. It has been embraced by a vast majority of Brazilians. There are many Spiritist centers in Brazil. Believing in mediumship, their ability to communicate with the deceased, and having them help us in a variety of ways is widely accepted. John of God is however, the most widely known and successful even by Brazilian standards.
