What is my Hemoglobin A1c level?
Hemoglobin A1c (sometimes know as glycosylated hemoglobin) is a blood test that shows your average blood sugar level over the past three months. It lets you know how well your blood sugar is being controlled. A1c can be used to predict your risk of diabetes complications the lower your A1c, the lower your risk of complications. The American Diabetes Association recommends an A1c level of 7 or lower.
