How much damage would an object this size cause if it hit the Earth?

Pretty much regardless of composition this object will survive atmospheric burn-in because of its size. If it’s made of anything harder than aluminum, the resulting impact – at that speed – would be about the same as shooting a bowling ball with a .357 handgun (solid shot, not hollow points). We actually had a near miss in recent history. A few months ago, an asteroid travelling *very* fast missed the earth by what I read was just a few thousand miles. It was travelling so fast we barely caught it as it was barreling out of sight of our long-range telemetry. It was a little smaller than the object described here, and all scientists on the news agreed on one thing: Had it hit us, we would all be dead. In short, it would be an extinction level event. P.S. Hitting 100m of reinforced steel would have absolutely no effect on the force of impact. It’s travelling 400k klicks/hr, has the concentrated mass of every Ford factory on the planet rolled into one, and is currently coming in at around
