How to dye hair dark blonde?
I have medium brown hair and I do it a dark blond. I use Loreal 8A (medium ash blond) with a drabber added. Ash is a green tint that will get rid of the brassy color you may get by doing your hair lighter. The drabber I use is red/gold or red out – it is just more ash color to keep out the brassiness. You can find the drabber in any beauty supply store. The directions are easy – just add so many drops for each ounce of dye. Voila! Blond. Enjoy.
I was in exactly the same situation as you, so this is my experience. I did not bleach my hair. Instead, I chose the lightest blonde hair dye available (with peroxide, but not bleach). Using this gave me a really warm, honey blonde colour without turning my hair too blonde or yellow. Doing it this way also minimises the damage caused. Hope this helps!
Well, I’ve done this before, so, be careful, becaue mine went a nasty orange colour. Make sure you look carefully when you go to the chemist or wherever you go for your dye. What I did, was I looked at the average price for the dye I wanted on all of the brands, and picked the one that was about 3/4 expensive (if that makes sense? 🙂 But yes, do that, if you have the kind of money, but you MUST have the right colour. I have experience with this kind of thing, so I recommend that if you’re going for a dark blonde, buy a VERY VERY light brown, or and extremely dark blonde, and just leave the dye in for about and hour and a half, depending on the dye instructions. Also, be prepared for the colour to get a bit messed up :L so, if the colour goes too blonde, make sure you have a light brown to try out in about 5 days after (dying too much harms hair strands).
