X-Wire messages themselves cannot contain a virus; only the attachments can. However, because X-Wire is a paid service, each sender is identified and you are able to track them down quite easily. While there is no built-in virus scanning software in X-Wire, standard virus checkers will flag an attachment the moment you save it to your system and handle it from there. For this reason, we recommend all users deploy anti-virus software.
