Why offer free tax preparation?
The Campaign is part of a national movement to provide tax services that boost the number of EITC filers in Philadelphia, and protect taxpayers from rip-offs such as Refund Anticipation Loans (RALs), sometime called “Instant Money” or “Rapid” Loans. Because of the hard work of the Campaign and other organizations operating free tax sites across the country the number of RAL’s has declined in recent years and our customers have saved million in tax preparation fees.
