Are mint leaves edible?
There are different varieties of mint leaves (i.e. spearmint, peppermint, chocolate mint, etc) that are absolutely delicious to eat and cook with. Many ethnic foods incorporate mint flavor heavily into their cuisine, particularly Middle Eastern and Asian meals.
Consider adopting their traditions and chop up fresh mint leaves to add to salads, vegetable dishes, soups and more. To ensure that these leaves maintain the freshest flavor, add them immediately prior to serving.
Mint is also very delicious when traditionally served with lamb. A great way to enjoy the lamb and mint flavor pairing is to roll whole mint leaves and stuff into the lamb roast with a bit of salt and oil.
Dessert-wise, mint always tastes wonderful paired with chocolate. You can never go wrong adding a touch of mint extract or fresh mint leaves to a chocolate dessert for the refreshing mint-chocolate flavor.
