Qualifications for a Chiropractor?
Chiropractors must have a minimum of two years of University or College training and four years of specific chiropractic training. A chiropractor is a primary health care practitioner, meaning that no referral from a medical doctor is required. Your chiropractor has had hundreds of hours of instruction and practical training in anatomy, physiology, microbiology, pathology, psychology, chiropractic philosophy, technique and treatment, diagnosis, x-ray technology, nutrition, pediatrics and geriatrics. Chiropractic is the third largest provider of health care in Canada after medicine and dentistry. Dr. Trim also has a specialty degree in sports medicine and certification in chiropractic pediatrics, while Dr. Rankin is certified as a clinical acupuncturist.
