How do you read guitar tabs?

0

sooo….. anyyyyyyywayyyy… as you can see, there are six lines on standard tablature (four for bass), one for each string. They are seen low to high, lowest string (E) on bottom, and the highest on top: the high E is usually written as e as to clarify. e———————————- B———————————- G———————————- D-3——————————– A——————4————— E———2———————— So, as you can see, there is a “2” on the low E. You would fret the second fret on the low E string. If it says “0”, you would play the string ‘open’ meaning without fretting anything. Also, read it left to right. Note that the two comes before the 4 on the A string, but after the 3 on the D. This means that first you would play the 3, then the 2, then the 4. Some tabs even show the endurance of the notes (how long you hold them).
