replaced the motor for my wipers on my 1998 nissan quest they worked fine for about 5 minutes then went dead everything was replaced exactly as it was and checked the fuses , could it be a short or switch . A: There seems to be too much DRAG in the wiper system. I would disconnect the wipers from the motor and move the arm by hand. You may need to grease the mechanism. Also, when testing, you may want to “wet” the windshield. If the drag or mechanical resistance is too great, a breaker may be tripped or the wiper motor may not be able to over come it. Check the friction or drag in the system first.
