What is the procedure for creating a KRC?

0

The following procedure covers the creation of a KRC under recent (e.g. Business version of v5.x and all versions of v6.x) version of PGP: • Create your new key. • Back up your new key. Select the key that you wish to create the KRC for. Go to “Keys | Export…”. A new screen will come up, asking you to specify a file name. Make the file name something obvious that this is the good copy of your key. Also, at the bottom of this screen there is a box that reads “Export private key(s)”. Click it. Now, when you select ok, a copy of your keys will be saved in the location you specified. • Verify that your backups are good. You can do this by going to “Keys | Import…” in PGP keys. You should see a double key icon or a key icon with a head on it. If it is just a single key, it means that in the previous step you did not check the box reading “Export private key(s)”. If you do get a double key icon or a key icon with a head on it and there isn’t a red line through the icon, you did fine. • R
