What is SRBFS good for?
SRBFS is potentially useful for interfacing legacy scientific applications which have not yet been integrated into the BIRN Portal with the SRB file space without having to modify the application itself. SRBFS essentially makes the data in the SRB space look like it is part of the local filesystem, and allows you to access it with common Unix commands such as ls, cd, mv, rm, cp. It should look like just more disk space to write to when you run an application, however, as of this writing, this functionality has not been tested.
