How does PowerX work?
Power X utilizes a Microsoft ActiveX Control and offers many features such as drag’n drop, file synchronization, and it provides the user with the ability to upload and download folders (and their contents). The only functionality missing from PowerX that is available through the default interface (SwapDrive Light) is the ability for the user to move files and folders from one location to another within an account. Keep in mind there are significant system requirements to use the PowerX interface. Your system must be a Windows-based machine, running Win98 or later. The software will only work with Internet Explorer 5.0 or later – so Netscape and other browser users cannot use this interface. Perhaps most importantly, PowerX employs file transfer protocol (FTP) behind the scenes as opposed to SwapDrive Light’s use of hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP). This is what gives PowerX the power to reliably transfer huge files and multiple files.
